Joseph Gordon-Levitt in 'Batman': I Can't Wait to See This Character

Quick, name the first male actor you can think of that falls into the "Quirkily Sexy With Expressive Eyebrows, Looks Especially Tasty in a Well-Tailored Suit, Makes Leonardo DiCaprio Look Like a Puffy-Faced Baby-Man" category.

If you didn't just shout Joseph Gordon-Levitt and run to make out with your pillow, you're dead to me.

Rumors have been swirling about my boyfriend JGL's involvement in Christopher Nolan's upcoming Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises. While there have been a flurry of long-shot guesses as to who Gordon-Levitt will be playing (The Riddler? Come on), it sounds like his character has finally been revealed.

For anyone who thought Gordon-Levitt was a bit too precious in (500) Days of Summer, get ready to see what will surely be a fantastically creepy role for the actor. If you loved his natty suits and slicked-back hair in Inception, I think you'll be equally pleased.

Gordon-Levitt will be playing Batman's Alberto Falcone, known as "The Holiday Killer." Alberto is the son of Carmine Falcone, the mob boss defeated by Batman in the first movie. In the comic books, Alberto confesses to being the Holiday Killer, a serial murderer who strikes according to the calendar.

The casting has not yet been officially confirmed by Warner Bros, but if it's true, it implies Nolan will spin events back to the story arc he began in 2005's Batman Begins.

In The Dark Knight Rises, Gordon-Levitt will be rejoining his Inception castmate Tom Hardy, which means I'm going to have to attend the premiere with, like, a bucket of smelling salts. I mean, SERIOUSLY.

We'll also be seeing Christian Bale again (*fans bosom*), and will finally learn whether or not Anne Hathaway has the chops to play Catwoman.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS MOVIE YOU GUYS. Now that we've learned who JGL will be playing, I'd like all the buzz to die out completely for the period of 1 (one) year, until I can actually start looking forward to seeing the damn thing. Release date? Tragically, not until July 20, 2012.

What do you think about Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the Holiday Killer?
