I got a little teary watching this short video from the Washington Area Women's Foundation. It illustrates some of the challenges many single moms face every day.
The single mother in the video can't afford food or medicine for her baby. She also can't afford day care or transportation, causing her to get fired from her job. Once she finds a women's center, however, she able to get the support she needs to get back on her feet.
The message of the video is clear: "Be that woman" by supporting your local women's center and helping other moms—single or otherwise—who might be going through a difficult time, especially now during the recession.
A question for single moms: Did any part of the video resonate with you? A question for all moms: What do you do to help other moms?
