Tom Brady's 'Baby Talk' for Attention Would Make Any Wife Cringe

Eye Roll 4

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen

I don't know about you, but as a mom of three, I've got no room for any extra whining in my house -- especially from my husband!

So I have to say, when Super Bowl champ Tom Brady confessed that his "trick" to getting his wife's attention is throwing a tantrum, I laughed, then cringed, and thought, "Wow, for once I'm glad I'm not Gisele Bundchen!"

The 37-year-old, who has two kids with the supermodel and one from a previous relationship, said he isn't afraid to act like one of them if it'll help him get noticed by the leggy Brazilian.

"I like attention from her. So when I’m not getting it, I let her know in immature ways, like a young, immature child would. You throw fits ... you pout and you whine until you get what you want," the quarterback told Us Weekly.

Say what?? While some women might find this cute or flattering, I don't care how handsome you are, that's just not attractive.

Plenty of women have stories about their husbands, who, after two sneezes, take to bed for days bundled in a robe, whimpering about the sniffles. (Cue dramatic eye roll.) I think even when your man is under the weather, your sympathy is still put to the test. As moms, we rarely get a "sick day," right?

But whining just to get attention? No thank you!

When I read that, I immediately wondered what would happen if Gisele ran into a friend somewhere, say, at the Met Gala. Would Tom start jumping up and down or pulling on her arms or pummeling her legs to break up the conversation the way we've all seen toddlers do when their moms are talking to another adult?

Let's face it: We've all been there. Earlier this summer, I bumped into a friend at the library. While we were catching up, my son started a "Can we go? Can we go?" chant that was absolutely mortifying. I can't imagine my husband pulling the same antics! Thankfully, he's not a whiner because my patience is already at its limit!

Fortunately, it sounds like the jig is up in the Bundchen-Brady household.

"She's on to me ..." the New England Patriot joked. "So now I have to learn new tricks."

Boy, does he ever!

Does your man whine for attention? How do you handle it?
