Imagine going through 66 weddings ... and still not being, well, wed. Sure, it may sound crazy, but it's also been a journey for 34-year-old Alex Pelling and 32-year-old Lisa Gant. They are an engaged couple from Manchester, England, who haven't legally tied the knot but have had 66 traditional wedding ceremonies all over the globe within the last three years -- in an effort to find the perfect, "dream" location for their official "I do"s.
In 2011, after spending four years living together, Alex and Lisa moved to Australia from the U.K., had their first traditional ceremony in Didsbury, and then started looking for the perfect location in the whole country. From there, the experiment grew and grew until the pair was globe-trotting and experiencing one wedding after the next. Wild!
Their mission soon became to find the most unique wedding locations and blog about their experiences, so as to provide a guide and tips for other couples looking to have out-of-the-norm experiences.

Useful, for sure. And there's no doubt that as a result of their aim, the couple has been places and done things most of us could only dream of! Just the idea of having had 66 (!!!) weddings in itself is mindblowing. At the same time, though, I can't help but wonder if the couple is looking for -- and maybe even peddling -- something that simply doesn't exist.
There's no such thing as the perfect, dream location or ceremony for your wedding. Beautiful, amazing, memorable? Sure! But perfect? Nah. Something's always going to be a little bit off, the centerpieces may not be exactly what you had envisioned, one guest or family member along the line is going to act up, etc.
But perhaps they're just striving for the place and the customs that resonate the most with them, and if that's the case, fair enough. More power to them! Plus, the pursuit of shedding light on the many colorful, gorgeous wedding traditions for other couples isn't too shabby either!
Here's a video of the couple's wedding in Argentina.
