6 Devastating Tales of Wedding Venue Disaster

wedding venue

Every couple planning a wedding knows how important the venue is. You want it to accommodate your friends and family, to be accessible, to be affordable -- and hopefully it's beautiful as well. Couples put a lot of thought and money into their dream locations. So what happens when -- poof! -- that location suddenly disappears on you? What do you do when, at the last minute, you have no place for your celebration -- and you can't change the date? I guess there are worse things that could happen, but what a stressful situation for an engaged couple. Here are 6 tales of wedding venue disaster.

Some of these are horrible. It makes me feel better about my (disaster) of a wedding. We were supposed to have the building the entire day before to decorate. Because of a "scheduling error" we didn't get to take possession until 1100 that night. We set up all we could, including some of the food in crock pots to cook for the next day. We come back, and half the Community Board (Who were in charge of the historic school house we were getting married in) had come in, Un-decorated, turned off the food, and turned off the gas so we couldn't finish with the ovens. They had even put away some of the tables. I wish I'd cancelled the wedding and had what I really wanted anyway, but I married the love of my life so that was all that mattered.
