Man Marries on Christmas Day After a 50-Foot Fall & 2 Months in a Coma

Six months ago, Tommy Jeglum was in a coma after falling 50 feet from a telephone pole while working as a tower climber in June. He was in the coma for two months, and doctors only gave him a 10 percent chance of ever regaining consciousness.

On Christmas Day, he married the love of his life and the mother of his children.

Regina Jeglum said, “Now he is awake and getting better every day … it’s amazing our children have their daddy to hold him kiss him.”

Awww! Tommy still has a lot of recovery to go through, but the fact that he’s alive is amazing. Regina says that he’s able to sit up and eat, and that his speech is continuing to improve every day.

The couple credits the “support of loved ones, friends, and the Hubble Foundation.” That organization exists to help tower climbers’ families.

One friend, Bryce Mallory, connected with the Jeglums through Hubble and said of the couple’s Christmas Day nuptials, “To know that true love exists like that today. Today is a Christmas Miracle.”

Such a great love story -- it’s nice to know that sometimes when it seems like circumstances may be taking someone you love away, the best is still yet to come.

Congrats to the happy couple!

Have you ever known anyone in a coma?
