With Thanksgiving here and the December holidays around the corner, family travel is on a lot of people's lists, whether you're enjoying an overnight stay at a hotel or cramming into a room at Grandma's house.

Either way, sex can be a bit of challenge, especially if you've got kids around.

So here are my five simple tips to help you get it on while you're away.

Sleep in. Take advantage of early-rising family members and send the kids down to them for breakfast. That leaves you with a solid 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how quickly your kids eat. Plus, it ensures that you'll greet everyone with a big smile.

Take a bath (or shower). What are grandparents for anyway? Hand the kids over to the relatives for a few minutes so you can get cleaned up, then save some water and do it together. Just remember that time is of the essence, at least if you don't want people to start getting suspicious. If you've got little ones in a hotel room, use that crib or playpen to your advantage.

Try the floor. Grab all the extra blankets in the closet and create a makeshift "bed" or love nest. You can use the bed to block the view if you've got sleeping kids or babies in the room. And don't forget to pack your white noise machine, or download the free app on your smart phone.

Go for a ride. So when's the last time you had sex in a car? This is a fun way to change things up even if you're stuck at home, but you could try this when you're away on vacation too. Grab a towel for the windshield, and to cover the seat.

Go outside. No family member will fault you for taking a walk after Thanksgiving dinner, so leave your kids in good hands (or plan your exercise session during naptime), and find a secluded spot for a little hanky panky. Make sure you've got a blanket of some kind, especially if it's a little nippy outside.
