Taylor Swift Gets Tough With the Kennedys as Any Woman Dating Royalty Should

by Kiri Blakeley on August 22, 2012 at 3:22 PM

Taylor SwiftAh, young love. I'm talkin' 'bout Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy, y'all. There they are, holding hands and kissing all over the place. Visiting Conor's mother's grave. Living near each other on Cape Cod. And, er, crashing a Kennedy wedding. Apparently Taylor was asked -- twice! -- to leave the wedding of Kyle Kennedy, Conor's cousin. Reports say the bride's mother worried that Taylor would distract from the bride's big day.

But word has it Taylor was all, "Hells no!" and refused to leave. And good for Tays. Because there's going to be only one way for Taylor to survive the family considered America's royalty and its "curse." And that's to stick up to them!

I'm not condoning crashing someone's wedding. But Swift's spokeswoman says that the bride welcomed Taylor personally. Who knows what exactly happened here. All I know is, Taylor ain't gonna take no guff from no Kennedy matriarch. And she shouldn't.

Conor looks like a sweet boy. But, let's face it, the women of the Kennedy clan haven't fared so well over the years. Conor's mother, Mary Kennedy, committed suicide. John Kennedy, Jr.'s wife, Carolyn Bessette (and her sister, Lauren), died in a plane crash with him. Jackie Kennedy watched her president husband, JFK, get assassinated right in front of her. You get the drift. Woman + Kennedy man = Ruh-roh.

So if you're going to date a Kennedy, you need to come in with guns a blazin'. Not real guns, people. I mean emotional guns. And you gotta stick to 'em. You gotta say, "I'm doing it MY way, Kennedy beeyaash, so you and your pearls better back the hell off!"

It's this way for anyone joining a strong tight-knit family. You can't let them crush your individuality. You've got to draw boundaries. You've got to be able to say, "So you own a Cape Cod compound? Well, lookee here, I can buy one too, so howdya like that?"

Taylor might be the first woman to join up with the Kennedy clan who can't be overpowered by them. And she ain't going to be told to which fork to use or which country club to join. She'll kick the fork and buy the country club, dammit! I totally hear an awesome song right now.

Do you think Taylor will do okay with the Kennedys?

I think if you're not invited to a wedding, and you're asked to leave, TWICE, you're a very rude and inconsiderate person to stay. I don't care WHO you THINK you are. That's RUDE.

    1. She was not invited. 2. She came as the guest of someone who did not RSVP and only asked the day of, "Hey, is it all right if we show up anyway (and was told no!) 3. She was asked to leave twice and refused. That is not "sticking up for herself" and it has nothing to do with "surviving" the Kennedys. It was rude, plain and simple. (And btw, the Kennedy family is NOT royalty so stop calling them that)

The article clearly says she was invited by the bride, in which case the family should have just shut the fuck up and minded their business.

She better be careful. They are known to chew up their women and spit them out or drive them off bridges.

Ok why would any one go to a tabloid to spill a story like this? Because Vicky is jealous of her mother inlaw Ethyls close friendship with Taylor and will do anything to make Taylor look like she isn't wanted. Like when she went to the papers to start trouble that taylor is not a Kennedy so she can't stay as a guest she has to pay to stay. Vicky is a bitter jealous troublemaker

Man, you couldn't pay me enough money to ever get involved with a Kennedy.  You talk about the Kennedy women, what about the Kennedy men? Some of them are known crooks, rapists and even murderers. Yea, thanks but no thanks! I hope someone in Taylor life warns her to get out while she can.

Blech! The Kennedy's are NOT royalty. Yuck. They're disgusting, full of themselves, womanizing, abusing bastards with a rapist and killer thrown in for good measure. Why would anyone want anything to do with these people much less look up to them as "royalty"? Run for your life Taylor!

Look, she was Conor's date. I'm pretty sure Conor was the ringleader, and Taylor just went along with what her date wanted her to do. He probably said, hey, they just need to get used to you being around. And, they should get used to her being around. It does not sound like anything other than people looking at her occurred. There weren't screaming fans or anything.

Very RUDE ! Sure the bride welcomed her, what else do you do when a celebrity shows up at your wedding. Kudos to the bride's mom. Yes, having a celebrity at a wedding DOES overshadow the bride.
Taylor Swift showed herself to have very little class. She will fit in well with the classless Kennedy family
