Khloe Kardashian Thinks '50 Shades of Grey' Fans Have Pathetic Sex Lives

by Maressa Brown on August 6, 2012 at 3:56 PM

khloe kardashianKim Kardashian may be a head-in-the-clouds egomaniac, but her sis Khloe Kardashian has always come off as rational, sweet, and chill. Her latest remarks to hit the web don't exactly undermine that rep, but they're certainly more irritating than inspirational.

When Celebuzz asked Khloe about Fifty Shades of Grey last week, she admitted she hadn't, which is cool. It's not for everyone. But then she went on to say, "What everyone tells me is that if you're missing out on a sex life, if you read the book, it makes you want to have a sex life. And I have a phenomenal sex life, so I'm not dying to read written porn. I would rather watch porn than read a different version of porn. But, I don't know what it's about." Oh, Khloe, Khloe, Khloe! Way to put your foot in your mouth!

For anyone out there like Khloe who have a very misinformed idea of what Fifty Shades and its ilk is -- that it is "mommy porn"/Twilight fan fiction for undersexed housewives -- let's get one thing straight, shall we? There are plenty of women, of all ages, who have "phenomenal sex lives" who are enjoying Fifty Shades or other erotic literature. "Reading written porn" isn't just for singles, geeks, or losers who are missing out on a sex life. And as much as I adore that Fifty Shades does seem to have sparked something in people who were struggling to reclaim (or even initially claim!) their horny inner goddess, erotica is not just for or being appreciated by women whose libido is MIA.

In fact, it sounds like Khloe doesn't know what she's missing out on! Your sex life should always be evolving to keep your relationship afloat. And tapping into your imagination by reading a steamy book is one brilliant way to do that. If she shut off all that porn she'd rather be watching long enough to enjoy some silent sustained sexy reading, who knows what kind of ideas Khloe could come up with for turning up the heat with Lamar? Erotica could inspire her to try things that would help her take her sex life to a whole new level.

Oh well, to each Kardashian their own! And really, who am I to expect any of them to pick up a book -- even if it is Fifty Shades of Grey?

Do you agree that women Fifty Shades or other erotica isn't just for women who are "missing out on a sex life"?

If you love it so much, and it's so great... how about quit feeling the need to justify it every 6 seconds?  It's getting lame.  She was asked, didn't go out of her way to bash it.  You however DO go out of your way to justify YOUR love for 50 almost every friggen day.  blech.

    Oh, Maressa, Maressa, Maressa!

"...who am I to expect any of them to pick up a book -- even if it is Fifty Shades of Grey?" - Actually, the Kardashian sisters wrote two books, one of them being a novel that was on the New York Times Bestseller list, entitled Dollhouse. Kourtney, Rob, and Kim all went through 4 years of college, except for Kim didn't graduate. Obviously going to college successfully requires that you read, right?

Fifty Shades of Grey isn't the only erotic novel out there. There are WAY more novels out there with much more description.

Maybe you're right! Maybe Khloe doesn't know what she's missing out on. But obviously it doesn't bother her because she has a happy and healthy marriage.

I think anyone who raves about this book is a total nitwit.

All 3 commenters above are ridiculous. Why are you on a 50 shades of grey fan site if u hate the book so much? Do you not have anything better to do with your time? Why don't you go find something else to do and have some respect for the person who is running this website.

Dear Confused:  Maybe because this is not a 50 shades of grey fan site.  Hence,  The Stir by CafeMom.  It's not hating, it's tiring of every other story being about it... and this one blogger does not run the site.  Context clues much?

Honestly I am with Team Khloe on this one - all of the people I know that rave about it are single or have pathetic sex lives.  I'm a married woman who would rather be practicing 50 Shades than reading about it, tyvm.

That's ironic coming from a woman who lives her life through her sister. The only reason anyone even knows her name is because of her sister.

If you have an awesome sex life, you don't need tips from fanfiction
