Hot Tips for Saying What You Want in the Bedroom Without Help From '50 Shades of Grey' (VIDEO)

by Lindsay Mannering on August 2, 2012 at 5:26 PM

pillow talk Ever heard that you should speak up about what you want in the bedroom? Only a thousand times, right? It's easier said than done, but thankfully, Dr. Logan Levkoff has some tips. On this short episode of Mom-Ed: In the Bedroom, Doc talks with a male sex expert (sexpert?) about strategies for approaching the mildly uncomfortable topic of telling your spouse what does and doesn't work for you. And no, she makes no reference to Fifty Shades of Grey, so you can stop rolling your eyes now.

Doc's tips are pretty solid -- as long as you communicate your needs from a place of love and not, like, evil criticism, you're doing it right.

Now, she doesn't recommend this, but I hear a psychological sandwich is never a bad idea when you're delivering a critique. As in, I love the color of whip you chose! I'd like it if you spanked me harder, though. But really you're doing a great job overall.

Good news, bad news, good news. Sexy psychological sandwich for the win.

How do you communicate in the bedroom?

Straight forward!!! there is no other way, Why is everything related to sex now referenced back to that Godawful book?? Didn't anyone had the guts to say how they like it?

If you like it hard and deep, say it like that, or soft and tender, say it like that.

I prefer to communicate like a caveman with grunts & noises. My SO is overly sensitive, so constructive criticism doesn't work. If I even say "harder" "slower"something like that, he only hears "you're not doing it right, you're a complete disapointment in the sack"
So no noise, he tries something else, more noise, he keeps doing it and remembers for next time.
We have a good sex life though, so it must be working.
