'50 Shades of Grey' Fans Lusting After Sugar Daddies Are in for a Rude Awakening
The book has already heated up and recharged the sex lives of millions of women, and now Fifty Shades of Grey is also supposedly increasing the number of girls looking for a sugar daddy -- in the hopes of finding their very own Christian Grey. (Good luck, ladies.)
The hunt for sugar daddies is apparently gaining so much popularity that there are websites out there that seek to match younger women with men who don't mind taking on the label -- because they're looking for a gal who wants to be submissive, and wants to be spoiled by them.
One site in particular, SeekingArrangement.com, claims that a quarter of its female members are actively looking for a man to dominate them. They've even gone so far as to promise fixing up "Modern Daddies" with "Goal Seeking Sugar Babies."
The site says: "Sugar Babies are students, actresses, models or girls and guys next door. You know you deserve to date someone who will pamper you, empower you, and help you mentally, emotionally and financially."
(Hmm. Sure sounds like they're using the success of the book to drum up interest in their site.)
But the idea of being matched with your own, personal Christan Grey sounds appealing enough, I guess. But I can't help but laugh at the idea of women reading Fifty Shades of Grey and then thinking they're going to land a carbon copy of Christian to help them live out their own erotic fantasy. Because the majority of "sugar daddies" out there aren't exactly young, strikingly handsome men who know all the tricks and trades of Fifty Shades-style sex.
Honestly, when I think "sugar daddy," the first thing that comes to mind is an over-the-hill man with plenty of gray hair that's slicked back with tons of grease, huge gold chains around his neck, and cologne that's so overpowering it could seriously make a woman faint -- for all the wrong reasons.
I certainly don't picture a guy who's barely 30 years old wearing a suit & tie and looking like he just stepped out of the pages of a magazine. But somehow I'm guessing that's exactly what Fifty Shades of Grey fans have in mind on their search for "love."
Who knows though, maybe there are a few Christan Grey-like sugar daddies out there who want to find their very own Anastasia Steele. Stranger things have happened, right?
What kind of man do you picture when you think of a "sugar daddy"?
