If there's one thing we can all take away from this whole Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise divorce mess, it's don't ever marry a Scientologist. No matter how good looking, rich or famous or how great he dances in his underwear ... just. not. worth. it. On top of a divorce and possible custody battle, members of the Scientology cult may be stalking Holmes around New York, TMZ is reporting. This does not sound paranoid to me. From everything we know about those Scientologists and their beliefs, I bet Katie is pretty up to speed with how the folks operate.
Apparently, people who have photographed Katie have told TMZ that there are mysterious men and vehicles following her around. That totally sounds like something Scientologist might do. Lots of people follow Katie around -- paparazzi, fans, magazines doing stories on her. It's possible it's completely normal celebrity stuff, too.

Except, let's be real. Scientology doesn't need any help giving themselves a bad name. But this divorce thing is making them look extra out there. If Katie's main reason for getting the divorce is to prevent Suri from getting indoctrinated into that world, as rumor has it, we know there has to be some really scary stuff going on in the inside, which Katie has obviously been privy too.
Not sure what the point is in following her around, except maybe to use their brainwashing techniques to talk her out of a divorce, or even better, to totally erase her memory, preventing her from revealing any of Scientology's secrets. Hey, don't put it past them. Who knows what kinds of gadgets they've got. They don't have access to aliens and have the word "science" in their name for nothing. May the force be with you, Katie.
Are you scared for Katie Holmes? Because we kind of are.

@the4mutts, as a Mormon I can assure you they bash Mormons quite frequently as well. There have been MANY articles bashing Christians, I'm actually kinda shocked you haven't seen one because I see you on here the majority of the time. There was an article posted right after a historical building belonging to the LDS Church burnt down straight up mocking Mormoms, asking where our God was during the fire. I can list a ton more too.
Religion is definitely not off limits to TheStir writers and never has been but this isn't exactly where one would come for stellar writing, this is for entertainment only.
church of scientology is considered a religion and a business all at teh same time...crazy mofos they are..
But, I will take your word for it, and assume that those were on days I skimmed headlines without reading lol
I remember back in the 60's and 70's when there were so many mind control 'cults' (calling themselves 'religions') such as the Moonies, EST, and Scientology. I don't remember who took me with them to a Scientology meeting but I remember also that they had many 'bio-feedback' type devices back then. So it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest about major technologically inspired brainwashing techniques. Then there's always the traditional isolation and torture.
Oh, wait, no, that was being married to Tom.
I understand "the4mutts "complaints here in the comments section but I wonder if she has ever done any research on Scientologists? There is documentation to support accusations of them stalking people who were critical of or trying to investigate the church.
I can see where someone might want to take this as an opportunity to attack religions and try to question if it was ok for the Demody to write this piece. Yes she could write it and no employer would think twice about it. The media historically has attacked many religions, that has been true even on "The Stir" why should Scientologists be exempt from that? In the US they can't be that would violate freedom of the press and our free speech rights.
The relevant issue is that the author has a right to write what she want as long as it cannot be proven to be libelous. However, this is a religion based on the writings of a science fiction author and they have harassed and stalked people in the past. There is credible evidence to support those facts.
I won't criticize whatever anyone wants to believe but knowledgeable people are aware of at least some of what has happened to people who have been critical of or just tried to investigate Scientologists or it's originator.
Anyone who does not know much about the history of how Scientologists have behaved toward detractors or investigators in the past could easily find credible news stories about this topic also Google Paulette Cooper
This headline should read ARE Stalking. Because you can bet your sweet, sweaty ass, Girlfriend is being stalked by those lunatics.
If I were her, I'd be a tad scared as well. She put Suri into a Catholic preschool...can't make the Scientology creeps happy. I'd move if I were her...maybe back home with her parents for a while until she felt safe again. How long do you think it'll take before Tom marries again...and suckers someone into Scientology.
Yep she's being stalked, and when Tom gets the case moved to CA, his stronghold support by the LA HQs will be even more troublesome, and is why she filed in NY to begin with.
