Johnny Depp May Be Dating Hot Bisexual Costar, Making Guys Everywhere Jealous

by Kiri Blakeley on June 20, 2012 at 12:30 PM

Johnny DeppYesterday, we mourned the split of Johnny Depp and his longtime ladylove and mother of his two young children, Vanessa Paradis. Well, we've grieved long enough. Let's move on to gossiping about whom he might be dating! Today, a whole 24 hours later, rumor has it that Johnny is seeing Amber Heard, his co-star from The Rum Diary. Amber Heard is hot, young, blonde, and ... bisexual! Oh lawdies, where are my smelling salts?!

Last year, Amber had a girlfriend, a professional photographer named Tasya van Ree. Amber came out as a lesbian, telling gay-oriented site AfterEllen:

You can’t respect yourself if you’re afraid to be who you are. It requires bravery to do something no one else around you is doing. But the risk was outweighed by the possibility of playing into this horribly detrimental lie that some in Hollywood perpetuate.

So could Amber be batting for the other team now? Who knows. Until Johnny and Amber say they're in a relationship, it's all just speculation.

But as for Johnny -- or anyone -- being in a relationship with a bisexual, I say it does contain some added element of uncertainty. Every relationship has some uncertainty, but for myself, I would really have to think long and hard about becoming romantically involved with someone who is attracted to both sexes. I think it would be difficult to physically and emotionally fulfill someone who had a jones for the same sex. There's just a whole other dimension of attraction there that I'm not ever going to be able to remotely live up to.

That said, relationships are full of all kinds of "what if?"s and nothing is ever guaranteed. Plus, sometimes it works out just fine. Let's remember Angelina Jolie is (was?) bisexual and she and Brad are still going strong.

Would you have a relationship with a bisexual?

As a bisexual, I have found that being attracted to females does not detract from the love I have for my partner, whether that partner is male or female. It does, though, add a nice dimension where I can check out other women with my partner and we both enjoy it.

Also, nobody will ever have everything that someone needs. Fulfillment is a personal feeling, and even heterosexual couples can feel like the other person is lacking. Emotionally, bisexuals are like heterosexuals. Love and acceptance from both sexes can be fulfilling. Sexual attraction will always occurs from both sexes in heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual relationships. It is not that alien that it would differ so greatly from heterosexual relationships.

Sorry I don't buy it. With all the BS and unreliable gossip out there? I find this to be another BS story some idiot made up just to feel special. Not impressed with unreliable and most likely untrue gossip.

    wheres the 4mutts????

as a bisexual I think the reporter is adding to biphobia - lesbians shouldn't date us cos we really want men, men shouldn't date us cos we are really lesbians, and you shouldn't be friends with us cos we'll make a move on you then steal your man- please!!!!

I have been very monogomous with my male partner for 8 years - we have children, we don't swing or have threesomes, bisexual is NOT the same as polyamorous, and just as a straight or gay person can be loyal - so can bi's.

I was very sad to hear of the break up. I hope that if he is with this new girl it works out for him (and it could be a breakup fling anyway). She seems nice, and her sexuality is her business.

Oh and to the author, if a bi person wants to be with you take it as a compliment and as being genuine, they go through a heap of crap to come out that you have no idea about

it makes me really sad that anyone would think of not dating me for being bisexual. my last ex was always whining, "you're going to leave me for a woman!" goodness, the misconceptions people still have about bisexuality. :( we don't HAVE to have both, anymore than a person who is attracted to both blondes and brunettes HAS to have a blonde and brunette significant other at the SAME time.

I take offense to this. Being bi should not be on a list of plus, you should date a person for themselves.

I'm a bisexual woman in a monogamous marriage. Being bi doesn't mean you can't have monogamous relationships. Bi just means you are attracted to both sexes. I fall in love with the person not the genitals. If you feel like you are missing something then there is a problem in the relationship.

I agree with a lot of the previous posters. I'm bisexual and have been monogamous with my husband for 11 years. Just as I wouldn't cheat on him with another man I found attractive, neither would I cheat on him with another woman I found attractive. People have this weird notion that bisexual people have this insatiable craving for sex with both genders... that we just can't be happy unless we have our cake and eat it too. That is just plain nonsense. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything sexually. I had a friend ask me when I came out to her, "Oh, how is that going to work with you and James??" Um, the same way it always has, thanks. I'm not going to run off with another lady in a fit of lust. I can control my sexual impulses, mmmkay?
