There have been rumors for a few weeks that supermodel Bar Refaeli, who was named Maxim magazine's hottest woman in the world, is dating George Clooney Shaun White. Shaun is an Olympic champion, a snowboarder and skateboarder, a serious athlete. He's also probably wealthy and a nice guy. But let me just say what we're all thinking: Shaun and Bar?!! Whaaaat???!!! Didn't she used to date, um, Leonardo DiCaprio?!
Let's face it. We see someone who looks like Bar, and someone who looks like Shaun, and we think, "She is SO out of his league." Yes, we do. Maybe we don't say it out LOUD, especially if either Shaun or Bar is around, but we think it. Even if just for a moment. We wouldn't think this with a supermodel and an old, ugly billionaire. Because THAT we'd understand -- we know why she's with him. But a couple who seem comparably similar in wealth, status, and career? But one person is ridiculously good-looking and one person is ridiculously goofy-looking? We're thinking "beauty and the beast." Don't deny it!
I remember once dating a man who was "under" my league looks-wise. I'm not saying that because I think I'm a supermodel or anything -- it's simply the truth. He was a homely man with a big, protruding brow, large, googly eyes, and a big belly. My roommate called him "Frank," as in "Frankenstein." But I thought he was hilarious. He was one of the funniest men I'd ever met.
Still, it was hard to get over his looks completely. There were definitely times I didn't find him attractive, and at those times I'd drink to blur the lines between what I was seeing and what I wanted to see. I was very young and we went our separate ways after a couple of months.
It will be interesting to see how long it lasts with Bar and Shaun. I'm kind of rooting for them.

Wow, shallow much? Did you even re-read what you wrote? Because it is seriously sad!
That whole spiel about "Frank" being "Under your league" looks-wise ("it's simply the truth!") would have been best kept to yourself (IMHO) as it did nothing for this article other than to make you look like a narcissistic snob.
Not everyone finds looks as important as you obviously do. Believe it or not, some of us are actually more interested a persons character (you know, that thing you seem to be lacking), than their looks.
And just for the record, while you may think Shaun White is ridiculously goofy-looking, I think he is really handsome, and I'm willing to bet I am not alone.
My daughter thinks Shaun White is hot! I think she must be older than him though, not that it's a problem, just an observation. I'm also probably one of the few that don't find Leo attractive at all!
