Rumor has it that Angelina Jolie is a bit nervous about her big day. According to a few sources, she's worried that Brad Pitt's best friend George Clooney will try and pull the ultimate prank during their dream wedding. Angie allegedly called George to beg him not to do anything stupid, and George gave his word, but still. It might be hard for him to resist the incredible temptation of punking two of the world's biggest stars on one of the most important days of their lives.
Speculation aside, you have to feel for Angie. Any woman who has to come between her man and his best friend is definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place.
On the one hand, you want to make sure your point is heard (in this case, no pranks!), and on the other, you want to make sure it's delivered in a way that's respectful of the friendship in which you are decidedly a third wheel.
You have to weigh your choices -- do you want to potentially disrupt the eco-system of your husband's friendship, or do you want to have your husband be a middle man for your message? Neither is particularly desirable -- the first situation makes you feel like a scolding mother and the second makes you feel like a weakling without a voice.
I would've done what Angie did, though, and I would've called my husband's pal and had a conversation. It's just easier that way. You know the message was delivered and you don't have to get involved with any of those "did you call him? what did he say?" convos with your spouse.
For Angelina's sake, I hope George heard her loud and clear, but for our sake, I hope he completely disregards everything she said. A Brangelina wedding prank would be epic. Whipped cream pies to the face, George!
Do you ever find yourself stuck between your husband and his best friend?
