'Bachelor' Host Chris Harrison Is Now a Bachelor

I always love to hear about long marriages, especially in Hollywood, a notoriously difficult place to remain married for any length of time. Chris Harrison, the handsome host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, was a shining example of a man with a solid marriage in fickle Hollywood. But no longer. He and his wife of 18 years, Gwen Jones, have filed for divorce.

Noooooo. This is especially distressing since Chris makes his living guiding other couples on how to find love that can last a lifetime.

Harrison has spent many seasons on The Bachelor sharing his advice and insight into making a relationship go the distance. To me, it will be kind of strange to be hearing his thoughts about making a relationship work now. Given his role as the person who guides a couple into the sanctity of marriage (or at least attempts to), isn't his divorce a tad hypocritical?

But I suppose the pair couldn't stay together just for the show. Right? No, no. Of course not. Sigh. Anyway, word has it they are still friends. Chris even recently threw his wife a birthday party. And they have two children, Joshua, 9, and Taylor, 7.

This begs the question as to whether Chris could be a candidate for the next season of The Bachelor. And, then -- get this! -- Gwen could be a contestant! Yeah? Are you feeling it? I am.

Will it be odd watching Chris try to make marriages after his divorce?

You can't call him a hypocrite...maybe he did everything right and the fault falls on her? Talk about judgemental! And no...neither of them need to be contestants... Let them be divorced for a while... Jeez...

sad...no one (not him necessarily) but the majority of people view marriage as disposable anymore. When i was growing up i didn't even know anyone divorced...35 years later, i hardly know anyone who ISN'T divorce...myself included...not the way it's supposed to be.

Isn't Gwen a little young to be a contestant? 7?

I think the travel aspect of the show probably hurt his marriage. It's too bad.
