CafeMom co-founder Andrew Shue moderates a hilarious panel of moms who discuss the awesome, dramatic re-enactments of some of our members' juiciest secrets. So, like, you confess something, we get an actress to perform what you've confessed to, then Andrew and the ladies talk about it. It's genius. This week, the Coffee Shop Confessions highlights a mom who admits, wait for it, that she flushes her birth control pills down the toilet. Yup! Her husband thinks she's taking them, but oh no, she's a flushin' 'em. Crazy, right? And that's not even the most insane part.
Apparently, her husband said he wanted zero or one child, and they're now on their third. I guess he thinks the whole thing's just some big fluke, but dude, come on. Birth control is like 99.8 percent effective. You really think you're THAT unlucky? Anyway, watch to see what I'm talking about:
It's so deranged that it's hard not to chuckle, but man, this is so not cool. I don't know of many happy marriages that can last that long built on a mountain of lies. This woman has totally manipulated her spouse into getting her way. Even though he should take some responsibility for birth control, especially after the second "unplanned" (in his eyes) pregnancy happened, still: Taking advantage of someone's daftness, or the fact that they trust you, just to get your way, is wrong. Lying is wrong.
Best of luck to them, though! I wonder if the husband will catch on if baby number four or five comes along ...

What a dumbass SMH
I was taking my birth control properly when I became pregnant with my first...I believe that this can happen maybe once or so.... But for this woman to outright lie to her husband is just awful...
But 99.8% or not, I got 2 children while on regular BC pills, and 1 on the lo-dose while using a diaphram AND nursing.
Only 1 of my 4 children were planned.
So the husband isn't exacly stupid for believing it. It does happen.
That's one of the big reasons (among many) that my husband and his first wife divorced (well, this and the fact that she was screwing around on him). She lied about being on the pill, because she wanted a 2nd kid and he told her he didn't. So, she just quit taking them and along comes my future stepson. She confessed what she did when she told him she wanted another baby (for the millionth time) and he said he didn't, and she said tough, one's on the way. Big surprise, they were divorced less than 2 years later.
The husband isnt an idiot, they say 99.8% effective for a reason. I have a friend who conceived all 3 of her kids while using BC properly. Her oldest was conceived while she was on the depo shot, her middle while she was on the mini pill and her youngest while on a regular pill. This wife lying to her husband about taking bc though is 100% wrong! She should respect that he doesn't want any more children and he should be snipped to prevent any more pregnancies.
