Scarlett Johansson Reveals 'Devastating' Details About Her Divorce (VIDEO)

GossipMonger 12

scarlett johansson cover of vogueScarlett Johansson might be the closest thing we have these days to a ethereal Marilyn Monroe, but honestly, every time the woman gives an interview, she comes off as really charming and down-to-earth. She's on the cover of Vogue this month, and inside, she opens up big time about a plethora of personal topics -- from those nude photos to her love life. Yep, she talked about the D-word ... her divorce from the oh-so-gorgeous and charming Ryan Reynolds.

Having already sort of moved on first with Sean Penn and now NYC "Mad Man" (ad exec) Nate Naylor, you'd think ScarJo would be so over her defunct marriage. But, as it turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Although she initally described the split as "comically amicable," Scarlett confesses:

Of course it's horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn't work out. [Divorce] is like the lonelinest thing you'll ever do, in some way.

Aww. Poor Scar. Who knew? Seriously, things move so fast in Hollywood, and it's usually so hard to keep up with marriages that tend to last all of five seconds in real-world time, we don't really ever stop to think that movie stars like Scarlett might actually be carrying around enduring grief. (Or, at least, that they would admit to it.) But it sounds like she really is still suffering. She says she feels "relative peace" now, but elaborated:

I don't feel on the other side of it completely, but it gets better. It's still there. More than anything, it's just that not having your buddy around all the time is weird. There's no rule book. I think it's just time.

Wise beyond her 27 years, right? She may have only been hitched to Ryan for two years, and obviously, they were very much in love ... and judging from the "buddy" remark, they were probably best friends, too. So who could blame her for still harboring pain?

Millionaire Matchmaker Patty Stanger always says you can't get over your ex until you find a new love, but I feel like that's a bit misleading. Because it might only be a distraction. There really is nothing that will truly make a difference after a breakup but time. Hopefully, with a bit of that under her belt at this point, ScarJo is on her way to complete peace.

Here, more details on how ScarJo handled the split ...

Are you surprised Scarlett's still not over Ryan Reynolds? Do you agree time is the only way to get over an ex?

I can't stand her. Everyone was reporting that Ryan Reynolds wanted to make the marriage work while she didn't. He'd visit her on set and she'd get annoyed with him. Some reported seeing her flirt with one of her male co-stars shortly before their split. I felt awful for Reynolds. He was clearly ready to commit to a lifetime together while she wasn't. People blame it on her youth, but I blame it on her selfish immaturity. But, then again, I'm hearing all this through the grapevine so the accuracy is questionable. Granted, what seems like idle gossip in the celebrity world often turns out to be true. But, regardless, I don't like her, lol.

Well, I wouldn't be over him either. Look at the man! Hello! :)

How do you "get over" Ryan freakin' Reynolds?? Lol. In all serious though, if she's still pining over him, then why is she dating?

Stacey. Stacey.

She is clearly a bimbo. Instead of taking time to heal she is giving herself to many other men.

She's an egotistical, self-absorbed nitwit using her ex for publicity. Grow up, Scarlett.

It's unfortunate when people get divorced and it's a sad time no matter who is to blaim, and who cares who broke it off with whom. Besides the media is ridiculous and often biased in how they portray celebrities in the media. It's all about what will get better ratings and views. There really is no way of really knowing what the situation is/was unless it comes directly from the ex-couple themselves. Besides, If they weren't famous nobody would care about their divorce except the people who know them. Why does it matter? People get divorced everyday.

The truth is Ryan realized she wasn't the person he thought he married. He held on as long as he could but got tired of her act and asked for a divorce. His response was to reflect on his mistakes in private. Her response was to party and parade Sean Penn and her latest dud around. She realized there was a backlash and now that she has a new film out she's milking her divorce for all it's worth.
