At an NHL game last week, Christina, an Ottawa Senator's fan, proposed to her girlfriend Alicia, a Toronto Maple Leaf's fan, on center ice during the second intermission and I for one couldn't be more disgusted. What has North America come to? Now we're allowing Sens fans to marry Leafs fans? What's next, a Dukie marrying a Tar Heel? Blasphemous.
It would seem that Alicia and Christina's love conquers all, including die hard sports teams allegiances, and I'm happy to report that Alicia said "yes." Canada legalized gay marriage back in 2004 and their sweet hockey rink engagement is a reminder of just how far behind some American states are when it comes to the love of love.

Sadly, Iam married to a Leafs fan. I keep joking with dh that one day, he'll become a Habs (Montreal Canadian) fan. We have a lot of fun with our "rivalry" though. Our teams face each other 6 times each season. If Toronto loses, dh has to wear a Montreal shirt and hat to work, if Montreal loses, I have to do the same thing the next time we go out.
@ Sribble lol .... that's funny. My husband and I love hockey ...our kids both play. We don't fight over teams since we have a preference on few, but not oneonly. Oh yeah we do the one overseas (we both are originally from). :o)
