Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thorton Once you've dated Angelina Jolie, the only place to go is downhill. It's like eating filet mignon with balsamic pan sauce and truffle oil every day for a year, then suddenly being forced to adhere to a strict diet of Amy's Organic frozen black bean burritos. So, it makes sense that after all these years, Billy Bob Thorton still isn't over his ex.
Despite the fact that Angelina hasn't mentioned Thorton in God knows how long -- and the fact that she and her 74 children have clearly moved on -- 56-year-old Billy Bob keeps on talking about her. Oh, and he's making a movie about their love, so there's that.
At the premiere of his new movie, Jayne Mansfield's Car, Billy Bob Thorton confessed to still being in love with Angelina -- "as a friend," course. He said, "When people split up, people like to make up stories about how they are against each other. Well, this was never true, it never has been and never will be, and I'll love her until the end of my life and she'll love me -- as friends." First of all, speak for yourself, dude. And second of all, who talks about their fully-committed ex like that in public?
And then there's the movie he's making.
Currently entitled And Then We Drove, Thorton co-wrote an "ethereal" film about a man who picks up a wild woman on a road trip. One of the producers of the movie told Variety that And Then We Drove was inspired by Thorton's relationship with Jolie. Shocking.
Dude. Get over it already. As the old high school yearbook quote goes: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Odds are you're never going to find another Angelina Jolie, because there isn't another Angelina Jolie. But I guarantee you, if you would just close this chapter of your life, you'll find somebody just almost as good.

I don't see how this is any different than any other writer who uses their own experience in their work.
