There are many "types" of girls out there in this great big marble we call earth, but the two I'd like to discuss right now are: Awesome Girls and Girls Who Try to Be Awesome. Cameron Diaz is the latter, and I'll tell you why.
In a recent interview with Maxim, Cameron said this:
Followed by this:
One should dry-hump as much as possible. It leads to great things. I'd prescribe at least once per day. What's also nice about dry humping is that it can happen anywhere.
Wow, Cameron. You're, like, so laid back and cool. You just want to have sex all the time and never get married. Guys must be proposing to you left and right.
Oh, wait. They're not. Because "Awesome Girls" (girls who genuinely feel this way -- and I'm only calling them "awesome" because they possess one of the rarest qualities found in woman) don't talk about how "chill, and rad, and anti-marrage/pro-dry humping" they are. They just ... are. I'm going to take a stab in the dark here, Cam, and venture to guess that your dream date is gorging on wings and beer while taking in a sporting event?
This kind of behavior -- especially the behavior that tells a cheesy men's magazine that you "prescribe dry humping once a day" -- is, well, cheesy. It seems like a desperate attempt to seem "cool" to members of the opposite sex. It reminds me of the time I told Todd Harrington that I "totally drank beer before" in eight grade, in hopes that he would then make me his girlfriend. (Side bar -- he did, but we broke up four days later. See? It never works.)
Of course, naive men are probably salivating at Cammie's comments right now. And doubly of course, if a man made these comments, women would be outraged. Any way you slice it, if you ask me, the remarks are declasse.
You're a lovely girl, Ms. Diaz, but do everybody a favor and keep your awesomeness to yourself. 'Cause if you ask me, your sharing it with the world is only having the opposite effect. It's making you seem a little desperate.
What do you think of Cameron's comments? What about girls who try to act soooo awesome?
