Brad Womack & Emily Maynard Out to Prove 'Bachelor' Track Record Wrong

Sasha Brown-Worsham

The Bachelor does not have a traditionally good track record for relationship success, but Emily Maynard and Brad Womack aren't ready to give up on the reality dating show just yet. The two were spotted together in Austin and even held hands and seemed to be trying to work it out in spite of reports to the contrary.

A witness told US Weekly:

Emily was her putting her hands in the air and dancing in her seat. They were both smiling and chatting. They held hands across the table and willingly smiled.

Well, then. Maybe it's true! And hey, even though Womack strikes me as an emotional wreck, it's still a nice idea. Maybe they really could work out!

The likelihood, of course, is low. The Bachelor has had very little success. In fact, of the main couples, it seems that only Ali and Roberto and Trista and Ryan have stayed together consistently since the show ended. Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney don't count because of the drama that went down on their show.

In other words, Emily and Brad have a long, long uphill battle if they want to beat the statistics. That said, I think they could. Brad has his whole life established and, unlike past contestants, doesn't appear too particularly fame hungry. Emily is more of a wild card.

Some have said she is fame hungry, but I guess only time will tell. At least they are trying, though, right? The odds are against them, but clearly they must love each other enough to give it a good push.

Do you think they will make it?
