Kate Hudson is pregnant, and if you didn't know, her baby's father is Muse front-man, Matthew Bellamy. The two met last year and started a relationship. But Kate apparently didn't sing songs on the playground growing up, and thus didn't realize that first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage. She skipped a step.
Kate and Matt are clearly in love (not that I know personally, just judging by photos of course) and in interviews, she sounds very excited about her baby. Kate's ex-husband, Black Crows lead singer Chris Robinson, is the father of her son, Ryder, and the three are frequently spotted all together with Kate and Chris' new significant others in the most anti-Rockwell family paparazzi portraits ever taken. People want Kate to marry Matt, but I think if it ain't broke ...
She's denied rumors that they're engaged, which is a good sign. Seems like being pregnant would be enough to focus on, let alone wrapping your head around the idea of a wedding and marriage. Kate spoke to InStyle about possibly hearing wedding bells:
I wouldn't count it out, but Matthew and I kind of skipped that part and went right to the good stuff!
While she's never saying never here, I think Kate should follow the example set by mom Goldie Hawn and longtime life-partner Kurt Russell. Those two have been together since 1983 and haven't tied the knot, nor broken up.
With over 50% of marriages ending in divorce, I hope that Kate doesn't feel any pressure to get married. She's got the money and the support, so I don't think she would succumb to (outdated?) societal norms, but she's got to make up her mind for herself -- only she knows what's right for her.
Do you think Kate should marry Matt?
