Chris Evans -- heard of him? Not only is he the star of the new flick, Captain America, which comes out this summer, but it seems like he's the Hottie-McHotterson that all the hot, young actresses in Hollywood want to get with. Maybe not all, but rumor has it he's in the middle of an intriguing love triangle right now with Twilight star Ashley Greene and Glee star Dianna Agron.
Now, don't get me wrong -- I TOTALLY understand why both of these girls would want to hook up with Evans. He's on the brink of superstardom, and he's reeallly hot. Like makes Greene's (and Taylor Swift's and Demi Lovato's, etc.) ex Joe Jonas look like crap ... that hot.
But neither girl has really been out of a relationship for more than a few weeks. Greene just broke up with Joe Jonas around St. Patty's Day, and Dianna Agron and her bf (possibly fiance) of almost a year, Alex Pettyfer, broke up in mid-February.
So, if either of them is hooking up with Evans -- because I highly doubt a serious relationship is underway for either pair -- it's clearly a rebound situation. And I guess things move faster in Hollywood (especially young Hollywood) than in the "real world," but how soon is too soon to jump into a rebound relationship?
I've heard of people breaking up and meeting someone new the same week. The same day, even! Sure, it's a movie, but in Going the Distance -- what a cute flick, love Justin Long and Drew Barrymore -- Justin Long's character meets Drew's the same night he breaks up with his long-term girlfriend, played by Leighton Meester. This does happen in real-life, too! Sometimes, relationships are already over for awhile before the official breakup. And in those cases, I can understand why someone would jump right back into the dating scene.
We don't really know what went down with Agron and her ex, Pettyfer, but there's some buzz that he was acting like a total psycho post-breakup. She was said to be "terrified" of his behavior. If I was Dianna, I'm not sure I would be eager to deal with another young, possibly-basketcase actor as a BF ASAP.
As for Greene and Jonas ... well, it sounds like another one of these entertainment biz cases of long-distance love gone sour. "With our busy schedules, we just can't make it work!" (Even with private planes and iPad FaceTime. Life's so hard!) So, maybe they've actually been more distant than you would think for some time, so it's not that surprising that Greene has been linked in just the past week or so to Kings of Leon's Jared Followill and now Evans.
Still, I feel like there's something to be said for taking time to chill after a split. To take time for yourself, get to know who you are again without that person in your life. There's a lot you can gain from giving yourself some time to be a single lady. (Yes, even if your alternative is Chris Evans.)
What do you think -- how soon is too soon to jump into dating/hooking up/another relationship?
