Sting and wife Trudie Styler have been together almost 30 years, married for 18 of them.

Yet here they are, in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, looking steamily sexy. One photo shows Sting’s hand pulling up the side of Styler’s dress while leaning in for a kiss.

Another is of Styler sitting on an unmade bed, in a black dress and red strappy high heels, with her eyes closed, leaning against Sting's bare chest, while clasping his hand.

The photos made me want to either jump into a cold bath tub or jump into my husband’s arms. Whew, they're hot.

Reading their interview and looking at their photo shoot for the magazine gave me, a 40-something woman, hope for continued sexiness in my older age. Sting is 59 years old and Styler is 57.

The two talk about some of the characteristics that keep their marriage hot and strong. And they're things that we normal folks should have in our own long-term relationships:

  • Be with someone you want to spend time with, that you have fun with. Sting says that he’s lucky because of course he loves Styler but more importantly? He likes her.
  • Absence does make the heart grow fonder. Sting and Styler inevitably spend long periods of time apart from each other, but for them, being apart "juices the relationship."
  • Keep the sex interesting by doing things for the other's enjoyment. Sting isn’t into what he describes as “pedestrian sex.” He prefers it to be tawdry and says, "I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up."
  • Care about your physical appearance and stay in shape. Both Sting and Styler practice yoga daily. Both are looking pretty hot, not just for their ages but for any age.

So before I go on a date night with my husband tonight, I'm going to go for a run, shave my legs, and put on a pair of high heels. I'm feeling sexier already.

When you go out, do you dress for your partner's enjoyment?
