Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is officially off the market: He reportedly asked Basketball Wives "star" Evelyn Lozada to be his wife on Tuesday with a 10-carat diamond ring.
Lozada posted this picture on her Twitter account, saying, "I'm no rabbit but 10 carats looks good on me!!"
The football star and Lozada have been dating for only four months before he popped in the question in Cincinnati. Keep in mind that this is an athlete who's known for his crazy on- and off-field antics, starred on a reality show with the hope of finding "true love," and gave expensive gifts to other women.
Let's hope that they sign a prenup.
On Ochocinco's reality show on VH1, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch (how does crap like this continue to get made?), he got to choose one "love" from 85 money-hungry women. Lozada was previously engaged to basketball player Antoine Walker (who is currently in debt and facing foreclosure), which is how she got to be on the Basketball Wives show. Shockingly, neither of those relationships worked out.
There were also rumors back in the spring that Chad was dating Cheryl Burke from Dancing With the Stars, giving her a $10,000 platinum and diamond ring. He told Us that he wanted to splurge because "she has to deal with me nine hours a day. It's like a marriage, so why not give marriage gifts? I don't spend time with anyone like this -- ever!"
That comment was from April of this year. With training and football season in full swing, one has to wonder exactly how much bonding time in the last four months Ochocinco's had with Lozada. Maybe she'll put her foot down when it comes to her fiance starring on reality shows with beautiful women. Shouldn't that get drafted up in all marriage contracts for celebrities nowadays?
As for Lozada, she's the proud mom of a 17-year old daughter. She founded Dulce, which is an upscale shoe boutique, and back in April, a few naked photos of her cropped up on the Internet. Of course, no one will be surprised if there's an announcement about a sex tape in the next few days.
Sounds like this marriage has all the makings of a happily ever after. Good luck you two.
Think Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada will make it down the aisle? What do you think of her humongous ring?
