'Avatar Style 3D Porn' Coming to a Theater Near You?

Sasha Brown-Worsham

It was inevitable with the popularity of 3D movies like Avatar and Alice in Wonderland that porno would not be far behind.

And now it has arrived.

3-D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy is the world's first 3D porn movie (or at least it's being billed that way) and will be coming to an IMAX screen near you.

The film, shot in Hong Kong, is based on a classic Chinese erotic text, The Carnal Prayer Mat, and cost more than $3 million to make.

The story follows a young man as he befriends a duke and gets himself into a host of crazy sexual situations.

A few questions:

  • Are those glasses going to be a turn-off or a turn-on?
  • Is this more or less weird than sex with a blow-up doll?
  • How did the actors feel filming these scenes with a 3D camera in their bum?
  • Will people be masturbating in the IMAX aisles?
  • Will the sex in porn be better now that it's right in our faces?

So many questions, so few good answers. Luckily, it seems that the coming years will bring a lot of 3D porn to our multiplexes.

According to Reuters:

Adult entertainment firm Hustler is reportedly working on a three-dimensional porno-spoof of the lithe, blue aliens in "Avatar," while Italian director Tinto Brass plans to film a 3-D version of his classic 1979 erotic film "Caligula," based loosely on the dissolute life of the Roman emperor.

Remember when a 3D movie just meant a pair of flimsy paper glasses with red and blue film and a B-level horror?

Of course with all the mainstream 3D movies, could porn really be far behind? All hail 3D porno. Looks like it's here to stay.

Would you see this?
