There's another bride in Rhinebeck, New York, that has a July 31 wedding date and she's none too happy about having to share her day with Chelsea and Marc. In fact, Emn Haddad-Friedman says, "Chelsea Clinton has taken what was supposed to be a special day for me turned it into hell.”
Haddad-Friedman is understandably worried about traffic, road blocks, and security measures putting a kink in her wedding day. She acknowledges that it's not Chelsea Clinton's fault, but says that it still kind of sucks to be her.
My husband used to work near the UN, so I'm familiar with the dramatic security measures that are taken when any head of state, or former head of state, is within a half-mile radius. So I too would be worried that I'd get stuck at the hair salon and miss my vows.
Since the Clinton wedding is still very much under wraps, there aren't any details available to Haddad-Friedman so she could try and avoid certain areas during certain times of day. Interestingly, Haddad-Friedman still seems more light-hearted about the whole thing than angry. She gives a shout-out to the bakery in Brooklyn that is making her cupcakes (incidentally, my absolute favorite as well) and throws out an invite to the Clinton clan to drop by and wedding crash.
Thank goodness she isn't a Republican. Then things might have gotten nasty.
