A government watchdog reported that several senior-level staffers of the Securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC), the people who are responsible for the US stock and option exchanges, frequented pornographic websites while on the clock.
Seems like the SEC is more interested in SEX.
The devil is in the details ....
USA Today wrote that the report included:
- A senior attorney at the SEC's Washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day looking at and downloading pornography;
- An accountant was blocked more than 16,000 times in a month from visiting websites classified as "sex" or "pornography";
- Seventeen of the employees were "at a senior level," earning salaries of up to $222,418.
Mouth open. Moment of silence.
Before I can even accuse these guys of a porn addiction, I have to wonder how they can get away with something like this? At work? How could their time be that expendable that they can spend "up to eight hours a day" at HotSexDotCom or whatever website they were on?
With the "word that starts with a 'd'" in their hand, the economy was crumbling. People lost hard-earned money and jobs, and families are stressed out all over America. But, hey, Johnny SEC guy has a ton of money, and with all his "releasing," he probably isn't worried about it.
And yeah ... let's accuse them all of a porn addiction now. And call them big fat jerk faces.
Can a sex or porn addiction be excusable here? Or are these people just a-holes?
