We want to know about all the lovebirds out there -- how they met and what they love about each other. Today we have Angela and Brett, whose age difference didn't affect their love at first sight feelings.
Let's take a peek into the intimate lives of others.
Who: Angela and Brett
Together: Married for 13 years
How they met: We met on Valentine's Day in 1996. We were at church for music practice. I played the drums and he was our new keyboardist. His first day with us was that day. He was coming from a big wig church from the city and we were thrilled to have him.
Was it love at first sight? Angela: For me, it definitely was! It fact, I went home that night and told my mom I met the man I'm going to marry. I was already in love with him that first night and I barely had said two words to him!
Brett: I thought she was a cute girl and but I also thought she was "illegal" (age-wise) so didn't really think too much about it that night.
What was your courtship like? He was 13 years older than me, so it was kind of funny. I was a sophmore in college and on my way to University, so my dad didn't think I was "serious" about him. So my parents pretty much gave us free reign until we became engaged six months later. Then my dad tried to put the brakes on, but by then it was too late. We had so much fun when we were dating and found we had a lot in common. We eloped the very next Valentine's Day!
What are your favorite quirks about each other? Angela: Well, he's a perfectionist and, although at times it can be very annoying, I am grateful for it.
Brett: We'll she's a "closet" type-A personality that is constantly on demand. She has to get things done and done fast. But sometimes I have to say they're not done because they need to be done right. But it's also one thing I love about her because there's no standing still. She doesn't accept the "status quo."
If you could change one thing about each other, what would it be? Angela: I would throw all those damn self-help books out the gosh dang window! I swear, him reading those books has made him selfish (at times) and so clouded with optimism that he doesn't see reality when it punches him in the face! Haha! And then I have to bring him out of the clouds into reality.
Brett: I wish she would be more positive sometimes and less pessimistic.
Angela: Wow, writing this down I can see where we could potentially cancel each other out or balance each other out ... we better be careful!
