When a woman and her partner head into the bedroom, they leave their parenting behind and it's all about connecting, right? Ha, we wish! There's a whole slew of turn-offs that can ruin our sex lives once kids come along. Here are a few of the worst turn-offs moms shared with us. Because once the flame is out -- it's o-u-t, out. We think many people will be able to relate to most of these stories about a bajillion times over.

More from CafeMom:

There is nothing better than sneaking in a quickie while the kids are asleep or when we have a moment to spare, but we've all been in the situation where something small just makes the magic completely fizzle. And nothing is more of a bummer when that happens. But what are the worst culprits that can get a woman off her game? We compiled a list of the most common ways our heads get yanked out of the bedroom. From contemplating our to-do lists, to hearing a worrying noise downstairs, to actually having the kids knock on the bedroom door at an inconvenient time -- these are all ways for the wind to get knocked out of our sails. We found moms who were willing to share the times when the smallest detail got in the way of their sex lives. Read on and see which ones made our list!

  • Little Interruptions

Getting interrupted by the kids is probably the number-one complaint for parents. As one mom puts it: "Three words. 'Knock, knock, knock.'"

  • Suspecting Kids Can Hear You

Knowing -- or even suspecting -- that your kids can hear what's going on can be a total buzzkill for moms. "We have a good-sized house, but we don't have soundproofing, so that is enough to ruin sex for us," complains one. "We have to get creative and sneaky."

  • Kid Noises

"I can't have happy fun times if I can hear the kids," says one mom. Even if they're occupied and don't suspect a thing, their little voices do tend to put a damper on things.

  • Horrifying Kid Interpretations

Which is worse, when your kids know exactly what you're up to, or when they hear you but think you're in trouble and report you to their teacher? Here's one mom's sad story:

"[My husband] and I thought the kiddos were asleep, so we were feeling frisky and seized the moment. The door was locked but my 3-year-old somehow woke up and was banging on the door telling Mommy and Daddy to stop crying. Next day he went to school and told the teacher that Daddy hurt Mommy and Mommy was moaning and crying ... it was so embarrassing."

  • Full-On Fatigue

Too many of us are just too plain tired after we get the kids to bed. "I have a high sex drive, but life gets in the way sometimes," a mom laments.

  • Fear of Getting Pregnant ... AGAIN!

So many birth control options available to couples, and yet, the fear of pregnancy still puts a damper on things for some moms. "The fact that I could end up pregnant again" is a major turn-off, one mom says. "I don't want one now but don't want to get my tubes tied just yet."

  • Lazy Dads

Know what's NOT sexy? "Him laying on the couch while I cook, clean up from dinner, and bathe and put kiddo to bed," says one mom." And the consequence: "If he's not helping me out ... I'm saying 'No!'"

  • Dirty Dishes

What do dishes have to do with sex? Ask this lady. "Dishes in the sink" are a major turn-off, she says. "I wish I was kidding, but I'm not."

  • Poor Timing

"If I'm lying on the floor playing with my daughter, my husband will try to climb on top of me and grab my ass or try to get his hands anywhere he can ... big turn-off!" complains one mom. Getting handsy while you're playing with the baby?!? That's no fun. "If I'm looking at my daughter and being silly with her, I'm not in the mood and he doesn't understand that. He just gets irritated with me."

  • Being a Mom, Period

For some, the answer is pretty simple and one mom puts it perfectly: "The tiny helpless humans spewing from my verdant loins, duh."
