Bride Takes All the Photos of Her Own Wedding & the Result Is Breathtaking

liisa luts wedding dayWhen you're planning a wedding, hiring a GOOD photographer who can capture the essence of your special day is crucial. (Plus, you don't want someone who yells, "Say cheese!" right as you're saying, "I do.") How did photographer Liisa Luts get the shots she wanted for her August wedding? She decided to take all the photos herself.

Liisa and her now-husband, Henno, live in Estonia and run a small company that offers photography, videography, and animation services. When they decided to marry last month, they knew plenty of great photographers they could have hired.

And of course, Liisa wanted images of her special day, but she wasn't craving beauty shots. Or traditional posed pics where the bridal party stands in a stiff line, smiles plastered onto their faces while they're secretly thinking, "I hope there's an open bar."

"We didn't want to put on a show," Liisa tells The Stir exclusively. "We wanted to be ourselves, and for us, it is not important at all to have a fancy gallery to look at and share. As lame as it sounds, we wanted to 'keep it real' ... and get the most direct and authentic look of our day."

Liisa shot her entire wedding day from the moment she woke up until she went to bed that night. The result? Real, like she hoped for. And really, really beautiful.

See for yourself.

Photos from the entire wedding day are up for viewing at Liisa's site. But just FYI, her decision to serve as her own photographer isn't meant to dissuade others from hiring their own.

"I think that everyone should make their own decisions," she says. "Whether to get married at all, how to celebrate that day if they do, and all other aspects in life, too."
