Couple Hits the Jackpot Just Days After Saying 'I Do'

Getting married kinda feels like winning the lottery. After all, you've just publicly committed to spending the rest of your life with the person you love. But this week, Massachusetts newlyweds really did hit the jackpot.

It's such a cute story, maybe because it's so random.

On May 1, Stacy and David Foster of Orleans, Massachusetts, got hitched. Last Saturday, they headed into a convenience store to buy a scratch-off ticket for the state's new "Supreme Millions" game. It's now the largest jackpot in the U.S. -- a cool $15 million.

The Fosters bought 3 tickets. At $30 apiece, that seems kinda spendy. Especially because with each scratch-off, they only had a 1 in 7.5 million chance of winning.

But they did!

According to the New York Daily News, at first they didn't believe they had actually won. Stacy tells the Daily News:

[David] gets white, I'm like, 'Oh my God.' We run next door, because we were like, 'It's not real. It can't be real.'

They interrupted their neighbor, who was mowing his lawn, and asked him to verify that yes, they really had become multi-millionaires. (Poor guy.)

Stacy and David selected a one-time payment of about $6.8 million after taxes, which they said they'll use to pay off their student loans, and buy a truck and house.

Personally, we also hope they buy their next-door neighbors a little something. Because who wants to be in THAT position of saying, "Uh, yeah. You're right. You DID win millions of dollars. Now, I've got to go back to finishing mowing my lawn and thinking about how I DIDN'T."

And donating money to charity would be super-cool, especially because MANY lottery winners tend to blow their wad within five years.

Congrats, you crazy kids! That's one wedding present you won't need to return.

What would YOU do with $15 million if you won the lottery?
