Dad Gives 'Tomboy' Bride a Sweet Surprise During Father-Daughter Dance (WATCH)

You can usually predict how most father-daughter dances will go at a wedding -- a little Louis Armstrong, some awkward shuffling of feet, maybe a tear or two. But what you don't see very often is a dad catching his little girl completely off-guard with a heartfelt tribute to the good times they shared. Jim Mickunas knew a traditional dance just wouldn't do when it came to his tomboy daughter Kandice so he asked the DJ to strike up some John Fogerty and the two had a good old-fashioned game of catch!

Take a look at how completely original and sweet this is!

On his YouTube page, Mickunas, aka Dad of the Year, explains how he came up with his totally unique take on this ritual:

My daughter has always found her own path. She played Flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in Soccer and Track. She then became an Engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22. I could not imagine having a traditional father daughter dance with her. That is not what we were or are...So I came up with this. - She had no idea!

And anyone who didn't get choked up when Dad handed the mitt to his new son-in-law may want to check in with their cardiologist. The fact that this father put so much thought into this makes it more touching than anything captured by song lyrics.

While this might not be every bride's cup of tea, it seems totally fitting for this family. And in our book, Dad, you hit a home run!

What do you think of this surprise?
