Bride Ditches Sick Groom at the Altar & Marries Wedding Guest Instead

Instead of expressing concern for his well-being, a bride was reportedly so angry at her groom-to-be when he suffered an epileptic fit right there at the ceremony that she dumped him on the spot. But she still wanted to get married, so, you know, a bride is gonna do what a bride is gonna do: marry one of her eligible bachelor guests, of course!

This crazy incident took place in India when 25-year-old Jugal Kishore was preparing to marry a 23-year-old woman named Indira. The couple was about to celebrate their "varmala" ceremony, which is when a groom places a necklace of garland around his bride, when he fell to the ground and had an epileptic fit.

Indira didn't feel empathy. Well, if she did, it was short-lived because another, much stronger emotion got in the way: rage.

The young woman was incredibly angry because no on in her family had alerted her to the fact that her future husband had a medical condition. As Kishore was taken to a hospital for treatment, she announced that she would be willing to marry another man at the ceremony. And she had her eyes set on Harpal Singh, her sister's brother-in-law.

Singh, dressed in jeans, agreed to take Indira as his wife and the rest is history.

Well, with a few bumps in the road. Kishore returned to the venue after he regained consciousness and discovered his bride was already married. He begged for her forgiveness, but I guess he could talk to the ring by that point. The groom's family also filed a complaint with police, but again, the ship had sort of sailed into the night.

You might say it was pretty cold of this bride to drop her man like a bad habit the second he showed signs that his health wasn't perfect. But, considering how young women and men in India are often set up and are putting their faith in other families and taking them for their word, making the discovery that her husband's health wasn't what she thought it was can be a big deal.

More than anything, it would be disheartening to know you were starting your lives together after your groom and his family hadn't been completely honest about an important detail like this one.

Do you think this bride had the right to dump her groom and marry someone else?
