For as much planning as any bride can do for her wedding, there are plenty of things that you simply cannot, for the life of you, anticipate about your Big Day. And sometimes, those surprises turn out to be absolutely mind-blowing. Take, for instance, what happened to Lauren and Erick Fix at their backyard wedding last weekend in Stockton, New Jersey.

According to their photographer Ian Christmann, the pair were enjoying their dinner when they were stunned by several surprise guests -- who made for quite the photo op. Really, you just have to see this to believe it.

Check out the final result.

Yes. That is an entire herd of deer at the edge of the woods behind the couple!

And here are some shots Christmann shared of the couple inching their way toward the deer:

Christmann explains on his blog post about the shot, aptly named "Deerly beloved":

The bride and groom graciously let me interrupt their meal to see if we could get a photo or two near the deer. The deer were quite jittery as we approached, so I didn’t expect that we would be able to get so close! ... A couple of people have asked if it was photoshopped and the answer is "nope." It’s a straight out of the camera capture apart from some dodging and burning and coloring in post.

LOVE it! How awesome that the happy couple and their photog just happened to stumble upon this stunning set-up!

Goes to show you really can't know ahead of time what some of the most memorable, gorgeous, heartstopping moments of your wedding day are going to be. But therein lies the fun. And, for this couple, it will undoubtedly make for a gazillion punny jokes (e.g.,"We said, 'I doe!'" and "What a 'fawned' memory!") they can now tell for the rest of their lives together.

What unexpected shots did your photographer take that turned out amazing?
