'Married at First Sight' Renewed for 2nd Season! (VIDEO)

Married at First SightToday I'm devoting an entire episode to Married at First Sight, which was just renewed for a second season on A&E's rebranded Biography Channel, now the FYI network. It's a fascinating sociological experiment to begin with, agreeing to a blind arranged marriage. There's also a whole different layer of OMG-is-this-really-happening, because not only did these six strangers agree to the experiment, they agreed to have it filmed for reality TV, with all that entails.

In today's exclusive video, I break down episode 5, which (to me) is where the real work begins.

This week, our couples begin real life together. Jamie Otis and Doug HehnerCortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion, and Monet Bell and Vaughn Copeland have all made it through the wedding, the honeymoon, choosing where to live, and moving in together. The boxes are unpacked, the dust has settled, and it's time to start co-existing together. On a Tuesday. When nothing is planned. And every other day following.

In today's video I discuss what we're seeing as well as what we're NOT seeing on the episode. Did the four experts who made the matches consider the couples' work schedules when matching them up? There's a case both for and against that, in my opinion. Of the three couples, Monet and Vaughn are having the most difficulty this week. Are they being unrealistic? Is Vaughn being a jerk? I give you my opinion below.

How does reality television editing play into all this -- does it help or hurt? And also, a BIG question on my mind following the announcement of the series' renewal. Watch now!
