The Truth About Circumcision and Sex -- From a Guy Who Knows

I have a horrible disability that was inflicted on me by my closest loved ones and celebrated with a bottle of wine. And it was my people, the Jews, who invented it.

I can't share the details of this problem with my parents or best friends, but I'm going to share it with you. Are you sure you're ready? OK...

I am only sensitive on one tiny area on the underside of my penis. This is what most of us call our G-spot. For me, it's my O-spot, for "only." Other than that, little Corey is sexually numb. Touching him anywhere else is like rubbing an arm.

Hey, you said you were ready.

If a vagina does not constantly rub my O-spot, I cannot climax and often lose my erection. Coming inside my own wife is possible only after she provides foreplay like I'm the woman.

And I don't even get a handicapped parking sticker.

Your man might not have a problem like mine but, if he is circumcised, he has been desensitized to some degree. Depending on the tightness of the cut, circumcision transforms between 20 to 80 percent of a male's sexually sensitive tissue into medical waste. (The tissue folds inside the foreskin, which keeps it moist and protected from overstimulation.) The thin round band of what is left is further desensitized due to drying out.

If you are incensed about female circumcision, have you considered what you probably already did to your son(s)?

Most Americans consider uncircumcised penises to be uncouth, ugly, and difficult to keep clean -- an opinion held over from the days before showers were commonplace. Other than my fellow "intactivists," few question these deeply ingrained attitudes. Yet this ancient ritual -- tracing back to Abraham's instructions in the Book of Genesis -- came about to make it more difficult for males to commit the sin of masturbation. Right there, that should tell you something about its primary repercussion. In Victorian times, circumcision caught on with non-Jews because masturbation was widely thought to cause a number of diseases.

Some intactivists want their foreskins back badly enough to grow only a portion of it back with less sensation -- that is, besides the excrutiating pain of spreading and stretching their remaining skin with devices called "tuggers."

Yeah, uh, I'll settle for spreading the word.

What's your view of male circumcision, and has this caused you to question it at all?
