Royal Couple Who Divorced 17 Years Ago May Get Their Happy Ending -- Together?

When it comes to royal marriages, that of Kate Middleton and Prince William might seem like a fairytale. But others in William's immediate family didn't have a happily ever after. Prince Charles' marriage to Princess Diana ended disastrously, of course. And then you had Charles' brother, Prince Andrew, who also divorced his wife, the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, known as "Fergie." However, their divorce is starting to seem better than most marriages. The pair have remained very close. So close, in fact, that there are major rumors that the two will remarry!

Fergie says that, despite their divorce, she and Andrew have a "happy ending all the time." While promoting her latest children's book, Fergie was asked whether she and the Prince would ever remarry. She gushed:

He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince. It's lovely that we are such a family and the story has a happy ending all the time. In our every day, we really respect each other and we honour each other and it's just lovely to have that sense of integrity, to what we believe is right; to what is good and compassion and love and kindness. And that’s the way we are.

Hm, not exactly a denial! In fact, they both still live in the same home, at Royal Lodge, in Windsor. Of course, this isn't like most couples still living together. I'm sure the place is ginormous and they can probably go weeks without seeing each other.

Whether or not the couple actually remarry, it does seem like they have done divorce right. Divorced couples certainly don't have to continue living together -- or even being friends -- but Fergie and Andrew remained committed to being civil and respectful, and of co-parenting their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Sometimes people don't quite learn how to appreciate and truly tolerate each other until the fairytale has died out and the reality -- the reality of two human beings working together to tackle life -- takes a big breath. Maybe that's the case with these two. Perhaps they've learned to put away fairytale expectations and truly know each other as they are.

We might be looking at another royal wedding again soon! Doesn't sound like they need a marriage for their "happy ending," but hey, why not?

Do you think these two should remarry? Do you believe in remarrying the same person?
