Man Sabotages Bouquet Toss to Be Sure His Girlfriend Isn't the Next Bride (PHOTOS)

bridal bouquetI'm having a bouquet toss at my wedding. I figure it's pure, silly, superstituous fun for the single ladies. At least, I've always had fun with it. My now-fiance, not so much! At the weddings we attended as boyfriend and girlfriend, he'd sit there and brace himself during the bouquet toss. Not that he really believed if I caught it, we'd have to be next. (He's the opposite of superstituous.) But I'm sure the mere symbolism was intimidating. Cuz you know, if I had caught it, the pressure would be ON. He'd be the target of remarks galore. For that alone, I don't blame him for being stressed!

And he wasn't alone. Turns out lots of guys LOATHE the bouquet toss. One wedding guest hated it so much that he physically, hilariously intervened in order to prevent his girlfriend from catching the bouquet. Reddit user Alpishy posted a hilarious series of photos depicting the incident and joking that the wedding guest punting the bouquet was likely kicking it away from his girlfriend's hands ...

HA! So, yeah, that happened. What a downer for the women who were so eagerly lined up right there to catch it! I'd be kinda angry if I was one of them. And his girlfriend -- ooh boy! Hope she doesn't have hopes of getting a ring on it anytime soon. Yikes!

While this is super-hilarious, it also underscores the point I swear has gotten more and more true in recent years: Guys are increasingly petrified to get married. Hell, we all are! Why shouldn't we be? In the wake of our parents', the Baby Boomers' divorce bonanza, saying "'til death do us part" seems like an idiot move or a leap of faith (depending on how glass half-full or empty you wanna be about it). So when anything like a bouquet toss comes along to hint at, promote, push the idea, can't say I'm all that shocked that some people will clearly go to great lengths to keep the "M"-word at bay.

What do you think about this guy's attempt to avoid getting hitched?
