Look Out Beer Goggles, There's a New Sexy Consequence in Town

first date beersIf you're single and ready to mingle, or if you just like reading about what the unmarrieds have to put up with, check this out. The founder of OK Cupid, who also happens to have concentrated in math at Harvard, analyzed some data freely given to him from the site's users and discovered that people who said they like the taste of beer were more willing to have sex early on in the relationship than those who do not like the taste of the yummy bubbly stuff.

So, what's this all mean for you?

Well, next time you go out on a first date, you may want to ask your companion, casually, of course, if they like beer. If the answer is yes, you know, for better or for worse, that they'd be down to clown later in the evening. If the answer is no, then you know, for better or for worse, that they're probably not putting out that night.

The stats show that men and women who like beer are 60 percent more likely to get it on in the early stages of the relationship. One simple question, one amazingly illuminating answer.

So what if you're not necessarily looking for a short term quickie, and you're more interested in that whole lifetime commitment thing? Don't worry. The data also uncovered that couples who answered identically to these three questions were most compatible for a long term relationship: 1) would it be fun to give up everything and live on a sailboat; 2) do you like horror movies; and 3) have you ever traveled alone in a foreign country.

If you like succinct data to mold your love life, I'm sure you're pretty pleased with this new info. I'd argue that there's a fourth question that might also prove that a lasting relationship is a distinct possibility with your date... whether or not they ask these questions before you do.

A couple that comes prepared with revealing questions to ask on a first date probably has more in common than they might think.

Do you think the four questions (beer, sailboat, horror movies, traveled alone) are good indicators for either short or long term love?
