Holy Schnitzel! This Group Loves Them Some Sex Toys

world flagsIt may not come as a surprise that the nation behind some of the smoothest rides on the road are also enamored of another kind of mechanical toy. A recent survey by tennis star Bjorn Borg's underwear line questioned 1,700 people between the ages of 18 and 30 in nine different countries and found that Germans really love themselves some tools and gadgets in the bedroom. Forty-four percent of Germans said they prefer a little mechanical stimulation between the sheets. What's German for "ooh la la"?

Some other countries, thought, aren't as kinky as lovers in Germany. Sixty-five percent of British people said they'd prefer to have sex with the lights off. Womp womp. Nothing says I hate my body/I hate your body/I'm ugly/you're ugly quite like insisting it's pitch black before you do the deed.

On the other hand, 53 percent of Germans want the lights on when they get down to business. It's unclear whether or not that's because they need to be able to see what they're doing with all those toys, but one would imagine that there needs to be enough light to at least find the on/off switch.

Sounds like those crazy Germans have the right idea about the sex. They're open, they're honest, they're fun-loving, and experimental. Seems bizarre, then, that Germany didn't make the Forbes top 10 list of the world's happiest countries, but perhaps Deutschland was too busy getting it on to answer any census questions about their existential happiness.

What do you think -- surprised by any of these stats?
