Rihanna’s Mean Father Thinks Chris Brown Deserves a Second Chance

rihannaAha! The Curious Case of Rihanna and Her Horrible Taste in Men has been solved, once and for all. The culprit? Serious daddy issues.

Of course most women who stay in abusive relationships have serious daddy issues, but sometimes you have to dig around a little bit to figure that out. Not so with Rihanna. Not after her father, Ronald Fenty, made the dots super-easy to connect when he called his daughter "fat" and her violent on-again/off-again boyfriend a "nice guy" during just one interview.

Wow. Bad dad. Bad, bad dad.

These were his exact words ...

''Chris is a nice guy and everybody's entitled to make mistakes in their life. God knows how many I've made," said Fenty of the man who beat his little girl to a bloody pulp.

Hmm, given Fenty's ridiculously forgiving stance on domestic violence, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say maybe that wasn't the first time Rihanna got smacked around.

The comments Fenty made about his daughter's physique were equally abhorrent:

"I actually thought she was a little fat the last time I saw her. When I saw her at this year's Grammys, I thought she was back to her normal size. I used to joke with her, 'Robyn, you're getting too fat.' But I think she's fine. I think she looked excellent, as everyone saw, at the Grammys. She's dieting, she's working out.''

Again, I'm going to jump to a crazy conclusion and suggest that Rihanna is unfortunately well-accustomed to the self-esteem-eroding mind games associated with abuse: Tell a girl she's fat/stupid/lazy, etc. long enough, she not only starts to believe you, she starts to believe no one else would ever want her.

The whole thing turns my stomach. The men in Rihanna's life are cowards and bullies and I wish somebody would give them a proper beat-down.

But, more importantly, I wish Rihanna would realize that her dad and boyfriend are bullies and cowards and, in the process, realize that she's better off without them both.

Do you think Rihanna's father is to blame for her horrible taste in men?
