Romantic Man Marries Long-Term Girlfriend at Her Funeral (VIDEO)

funeral wedding ceremonyA man living in Thailand recently married his dead girlfriend. No, I'm not making this up. He held a combination funeral/wedding for him and his deceased love.

Now, to most, this is a tad bit on the creepy side -- particularly if you view the video of the ceremony. But there's a part of me that thinks this is actually really touching. It's an unfortunate but good lesson for those who take advantage of their loved ones. In other words, it's an important lesson for everyone.

Before we get into it, let me share with you the details of the crazy story: The man is named Chadil Deffy, also known as Deff Yingyuen, and his girlfriend of 10 years, who passed, is named Sarinya "Anne" Kamsook. The couple had planned to get married at some point, but Yingyuen kept putting it off, because he wanted to focus on his studies. Unfortunately, Kamsook died in an accident before they could ever set a date. Yingyuen explained that the reason he decided to marry Kamsook after she died was because of guilt. He felt he hadn't done enough for his girlfriend of 10 years while she was alive.

It's a sad truth -- everyone always appreciates the people they're closest to a little more when something happens, be it they get sick or, worst case scenario, they die. I know it's almost impossible to have such a mentality all the time -- that's just not the way we're programmed -- but maybe we could take advantage of the people we love a little less on an everyday basis. We could do that, right?

At the very least, let's use Yingyuen's sad story to do one nice thing for somebody we love today. Doesn't have to be anything big, just something. Because, as scary as it is to think about, anything could happen at any moment.

Check out footage of the ceremony. Would you ever do something like this?
