Camila Alves & Matthew McConaughey May Be Planning Best Wedding of 2012

camila alvesThere's nothing like a good love story and in today's world, a proposal on Christmas followed by a tweet is enough to melt my heart. "Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas," Matthew McConaughey tweeted and he also posted a photo on his WhoSay account of the couple kissing in front of a Christmas tree -- proof Alves said yes.

Camila, who is from Brazil, is the mom of Matthew's two kids -- Levi who is 3 and Vida, almost 2. If you saw her as host on the show Shear Genius you would fall in love with her, too. The couple has been together for five years. I know tradition has most following the first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby carriage, but I can't help but love the kids first, marriage second idea.

My husband, back before he was my husband, talked about having kids more than he talked about getting married. I always reminded him we needed to get hitched first. And we did. But having kids took our commitment to another place. For me, it made my marriage more meaningful and deeper. So this wedding that I hope Camila and Matthew are already planning, may just be the best celebrity wedding of 2012, complete with their two adorable kids in the bridal party.

Being a model, Camila is going to look amazing, of course, but I feel like she would be an understated bride. A simple, yet elegant dress, maybe even barefoot on a beach but nothing of the Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson variety. McConaughey, being ... well ... hot, would look devastatingly handsome in a suit, but I see him not being so buttoned up and tucked in. I imagine there will be bongos, too. Maybe even a steel drum band. If we get a glimpse at their wedding, I think it will be full of love and joy, and be very, very real. Unlike some Hollywood marriages. I can't help but be so happy for them -- for their whole family coming together. And their kids will be there for the day their mom and dad made their commitment to each other.

Maybe after there will be even more baby carriages.

Do you feel marriage should always come before you have kids?
