Jim Carrey's New Romance Is Already Doomed

Jim Carrey is a funny guy and seems like he would be a great friend, but his luck in love is bad, bad, bad. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, though not being in his bedroom myself, I can't say that for sure. His latest love seems a lot like his last one (Jenny McCarthy). She's blond, pretty and into wild times judging from their recent Guns N' Roses date. But they are doomed.

Here's why in two words or less: Matching outfits. Seriously, people. Carrey should know better than this having been around the block a few times. Let's face it, his track record is bad and he should know better than anyone that when you change your look and persona for another person, you are asking for it. And since when does Jim Carrey look like a motorcycle dude?

This comes on the heels of his bizarre video love confession to Emma Stone in which he said:

Emma, I think you're all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but smart and kind-hearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you. We would have chubby little freckle-faced kids, we'd laugh all day long, go camping and play Yahtzee. Tell ghost stories by the fire...

He later said the video was a "comedy routine", but no one believed him. Carrey conceded every word he said was "true." Prior to meeting McCarthy, Carrey was once engaged to Renee Zellweger and has been divorced twice.

In other words, he can't take another failure. The problem with new couples wearing matching outfits, especially ones that are out of character is that it indicates they are too lovey dovey and enamored to be real. That can be normal at the beginning of a relationship, but it can also seem weird and for someone like Carrey who often seems to fall hard and fast, it is probably a huge mistake.

It is sort of like couples who send joint Christmas cards before they have even been together a year (I totally did this, by the way). It can be cute, but it can also be weird and when that relationship fails, it can look desperate.

Couples who wear matching outfits when they have been married 10 years? Maybe. When they have been together a couple months? No way. This is a bad indication that they are moving too fast toward false comfort and that is never a good thing.

Carrey may be very in love. He may be happy and it may even last a few years, but the matching outfits indicate that this is finite. Mark my words.

Did you ever wear matching outfits with your spouse?
