Britney Spears’ Engagement Brings Out Best & Worst in Her Exes

britney spearsBritney Spears' engagement has brought out the best and worst in her exes. Her first husband, Jason Alexander, and second husband, Kevin Federline, have both spoken to the press about how they feel regarding Britney's upcoming wedding to Jason Trawick -- leave it to them to dish on something that's really none of their business. That said, I'm sort of glad they did speak up because we're now seeing their true colors. One of her exes is being petty and mean, and one of them is being supportive and loving.

Makes you see Britney's former flames in a new light. Here's what her ex-husbands had to say:

Jason Alexander, who for all intents and purposes dropped off the map back in 2005, apparently never got over those blessed 55 hours he spent wed to Ms. Spears. He told Us Weekly:

I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not. I think it's fake and I think people are afraid to say it. If you look at all the pictures between them there is no connection. They look like they are going through the motions. It seems like an answer to the court thing. Sort of a nice way to sew it all up she marries her handler. That way she always has someone controlling her. It's sort of sad.

No. What's sad is Alexander going to the rags to talk badly about Britney. That's sad. It really shows that he's a bitter dude who will do or say anything to get in the limelight. Calling Britney's relationship "fake" just to get your name in a magazine is pretty low.

Then there's her ex, Kevin Federline. The two have sons Sean and Jayden together, and he told Us Weekly:

I'm really happy for her. I think he's a great guy. She's happy; she's doing really well. I want to say she's in a good place. He's a really good guy, I've heard a lot about him ... I've spoken to him quite a few times as of now. He seems like a really good guy. The kids speak highly of him [and] her family loves him.

What an appropriate, kind, loving, and supportive response to Britney's engagement. I can't say I would've expected such a gushing display from Kevin, but it really demonstrates that he's a good guy who's moved on and who only wants the best for his ex-wife and their children.

These quotes make her “relationship” with first Jason seem even more ridiculous and make her marriage to Kevin more understandable. Hopefully third time's a charm and Britney's marriage to Trawick will be long, happy, and drama-free.

Have you had an ex who has either dissed or supported you when you moved on?
