Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler Get Back on the 'I Do' Train

kristin cavallari jay cutlerYou don't have to be a diehard fan of Dancing With the Stars to have called this one: Kristin Cavallari and her Chicago Bears quarterback ex, Jay Cutler, are back ON! Seriously -- I could have seen this one coming from miles away. When the two broke off their engagement back in July, the bust seemed to come out of the blue. Most sources said the split was all Jay, and Kristin was left drowning her sorrows with gal pals at an L.A. nightclub. But I had a feeling these two weren't completely over -- you know, unlike another reality TV-pro-sports couple (cough Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian cough), who were clearly doomed from the start.

Sure, the on again-off again thing doesn't exactly scream stability, but maybe one or both of 'em just weren't ready to walk down the aisle back in the summer. Maybe they needed some time apart to figure out what they wanted, and what they realized they wanted was a lifetime with one another.

Goes to show a break-up doesn't always mean the relationship is broken.

I know a couple who were engaged at one point, and then, school and professional plans threw a wrench in their timeline. They had even had their engagement party, gotten tons of wedding gifts, etc. Had to be a bit harrowing to call the whole thing off. Still, they quickly realized they didn't want to be with anyone else, and once they got their acts together and figured out how to start moving in the same direction again, the wedding was back on. I bet this kind of thing happens more than we realize.

You gotta admire couples who have the balls to say, "It's not the right time." Who don't pull a Kim and Kris and get so caught up in the planning that they end up walking down the aisle before they're truly ready. Good for Kristin and Jay for breaking it off and making sure. Because "'til death do us part" shouldn't be taken lightly. It's a HUGE decision -- one that's definitely worth breaking up and getting back together again, if that's what it takes. And I do hope this time is the charm for Kristin and Jay.

Do you think Kristin and Jay will make it down the aisle this time around?
