Kim Kardashian Makes Surprising Confession in First Post-Divorce Interview (PHOTOS)

kardashians on cover of glamourNo matter how you feel about her, you have to admit Kim Kardashian has had a helluva year. Having just spent 2011 getting engaged, walking down the aisle, and 72 days later, getting divorced, it's no surprise the woman is looking forward to 2012! And that's exactly what she seems to be doing, according to the interview she, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian gave Glamour magazine for their January issue. But believe it or not, despite what she's been through, she told the magazine she'll "always be a hopeless romantic."

She explained, "I believe in love and the dream of having a perfect relationship, but my idea of it has changed. I think I need to not live in a fairy tale like that. I think I maybe need to just snap out of it and be a little more realistic." Now, I haven't been the most sympathetic spectator when it comes to Kim's "fairy tale fail," but I gotta say there's something endearing and relatable about her insight here.

While I definitely agree that she might want to approach her next stab at a relationship with a more down-to-earth, open-minded attitude, I admire her for admitting that she's still a romantic, she still believes in love. Why shouldn't she? Why shouldn't we all?

But Kim also admitted to Glamour:

I always wanted what Mom and Dad had. And at first I was like, I want six kids. Then I went down to four, then I was down to three ... and now I’m like, maybe I won’t have any. Maybe I’ll just be a good aunt.

Oh no! Sounds very mopey, Bridget Jones-y, and unnecessarily so! Maybe the timing isn't right at this moment, but sooner or later, Kim's gotta embrace her desires and believe she can make them a reality. There's nothing wrong with believing you deserve and seeking that amazing connection with someone that makes for an ideal marriage and family life.

No matter how many times you've been burned or how many cringe-worthy or downright depressing episodes you've been through in love, you just gotta pick yourself back up and move forward. Because you never know what's waiting for you around the corner -- and finding that "perfect relationship" with a soul mate life partner isn't a pipe dream! Maybe Kim has to realize her ideal relationship won't be "perfect" in the most conventional sense of the word. All that matters though is that the guy ends up being the right fit for her.

In the spirit of new beginnings, here are some of the pretty New Year's-themed shots of the K sisters from the Glamour shoot ...
