Romantic Lieutenant Proposes to ‘Cinderella’ at Theme Park

cinderellaCinderella has finally found her Prince Charming, er, her man in uniform. Sarah Sordts, who's played Cinderella at The Great Escape theme park in Queensbury, New York for eight years, said "yes" when her boyfriend, Navy Lieutenant Russell Lidberg, popped the question. She in her princess uniform, he in his dress whites, the happy couple were engaged in front of a crowd of onlookers at the theme park. No word yet on if any little girls yelled something about that not being how the story actually goes.

I don't know what is most awesome about this fairytale: The sweet engagement story, or the fact that the woman has been able to work as Cinderella for eight years. KuDOS.

Her prince is a 29-year-old Navy Lt. who has served in Afghanistan and is now working at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Saratoga County, New York. His new fiance, Sarah, is from Saratoga Springs, New York.

After she said "yes", the couple danced, then the theme park announced that Cinderella was engaged. Aw!

Forget a prince, I think Cinderella couldn't do any better than a handsome Lt. in dress whites. What a good looking couple! I hope this romantic engagement is just the beginning of their happily ever after. And yeah, I also hope that she dresses as Cinderella on her wedding day and arrives in a chariot pulled by horses. Duh.

Anyway, congrats to the happy couple. I couldn't think of a more deserving man for Cinderella -- a hard-working, dedicated, and romantic military man is quite a catch.

What do you think?
